A New Low

I've reached it. I couldn't do Claire's math today. And then, to top it off, I wrote her teacher a note to tell her it was a "dumb" worksheet. Luckily, she has a good sense of humor... I hope. By the way, Kyle was able to save the day. I guess that why he has the doctorate.

We are the Three Amigos!

Here's a rare sighting of Allison smiling for the camera. Derek was fixin to get his pictures taken at Target. The girls wanted to take some pictures at home before he left. Claire and Alli have the same shirt, but Alli thinks it's a dress. We witnessed weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth while Diana tried to pursuade Alli that the pants, in fact, must be worn to school. The minute Alli arrived home the pants came off and she pranced around like Mary Catherine Gallagher from SNL with her undies showing. Fortunately for us, she didn't get nervous...but she is our very own SuperStar!

The REAL Story

I know you are all curious about the car swap. So, here's the truth... Jenifer left their car keys on our kitchen counter. Kyle walks across the street late that night and moves their car into our garage. Then he moves our famous van, "The Toaster", into their driveway. Nate leaves for work early in the morning and drives the other car because he can't find his keys... This is only in retaliation for the discovery of a rainbow bumper sticker on Kyle's truck last week that read "Man Hungry". The best part of the whole incident was seeing Jenifer run out in her bath robe to take pictures of the van in her driveway. I wish we had pictures of that, but we weren't fast enough! Love ya, Jen! :) I guess we are even now...

Barbie Saves the Day~

Taking Barbie's advice, I have now turned off the word verification notice on my blog. Thanks to Barbie for enlightening me with her blogging wisdom. (I was sure someone would.) :) Enjoy leaving comments on our blog "squiggly code word thingy" free, everyone!

As Requested...

Some of you mentioned wanting to see evidence of the "Homecoming Dance" picture I wrote about in my High School Tag blog. Apparently, I was mistaken. The fish lips/polka dot shirt incident actually took place at a dance called "Turn About". (Girl ask guy... but I'm pretty sure Kyle asked me to go anyway... just so I wouldn't ask anyone else.) The other two pictures are Junior Prom with Kyle and Senior Prom with Ricky and friends. Sorry, to include your picture Alisa, but you looked amazing, as always. Disgusting. :)

Car Swap!

This time the practical jokes have gone too far. We woke up this morning to find our neighbor's car in our garage. We looked passed the whole "bumper sticker" incident, but now it has become personal. Watch out Woodards!

My First Blog Tag... well, actually my second... I didn't do the first one. Sorry, Jenifer.

High School: Chandler High Chandler, AZ

1. Did you date someone from your high school: I tried to date several guys, but Kyle kept chasing them off.
2. What kind of car did you drive? First I had "Roger". I believe it was mentioned in my, sister, Laura's blog. I remember that it was brown, had no air conditioning (except for when I was on my way home from swim practice with all the windows down and I was all wet), and Kyle taught me to drive stick shift in that car. Then my parents purchased a cute, older Mustang (yes, red) for me to drive back and forth to school. It was a fun car until a few years later. It caught fire in front of the tire shop on Arizona Avenue.
3. What was your most embarrassing moment in high school? It's a toss up. The blue polyester orchestra dress with the white lace collar or the blue and white track uniform with the shorts that would flap in the breeze. (Luckily, I was a sprinter. I only ran short distances in them.)
4. Were you a party animal? Not cool enough for that.
6. (Hey, what happened to #5?) Were you in band, orchestra, or choir?: No, yes, no... we called it the "dorkestra". Right, Becky?! Woo hoo! But I think we might have been a step above the "band nerds".
7. Were you a nerd? : Weren't we all? I permed my hair, listened to Depeche Mode, and went to stake dances for fun... Is that nerdy?
8. Were you on any varsity teams? : Track, Cross Country, and Swim (The last two were varsity because we didn't have enough team members to have JV) :)
9. Did you get suspended/expelled? : I don't even remember the principal's name.
10. Can you still sing the fight song? : I'm sure there was one... we mostly made fun of the cheerleaders. Sorry, guys.
11. Who were your favorite teachers? : I remember liking my biology teacher... Ms. Palmer.
12. Where did you sit during lunch?: At the seminary buiding! But only after going over to Elmer's to get a bean and cheese or a butter tortilla.
13. School Mascot? Wolves
14. Did you go to homecoming and with who?: Yes, with Kyle and I have a funny picture to prove it. We call it the fish lips picture and Kyle is wearing the funniest polka-dot shirt.
15. If you could go back and do it again, would you? No way! I could never pass AP English or Math now!
16. What do you remember most about graduation?: It was hot. I wore a pink dress. My hair was curly. We tried to have fun at grad night. (Golfland, yay.)
17. Where did you go senior skip day?: Spring Training Baseball Game
18. Were you in any clubs? : I was in the German club.
19. Have you gained weight since then?: No, I've lost muscle and replaced it with fat which weighs alot less.
20. Who was your prom date?: Kyle made me go with him my Junior year even though George Lai had already asked me. Then I went to Senior prom with Ricky Evans and a large group of friends. We had fun both times.
21. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion?: I went to the picnic that was free, but passed on the expensive dinner.
22. Looking back, what advice would you give yourself?: I should have gone to prom with George Lai. I mean that's only fair, right? He did ask first. Sorry, dear, but you get to be married to me for all eternity now. Lucky guy.

Just for your information... this is what my sister wrote about me on her blog:
" Ooo, now I get to tag people: Jacob, Diana (who won't do it, so this is really just a guilt trip :-) ), Kyle, Michelle, and Denise."

Squiggly Code Word Thingy

So, here I am just home from a late night grocery shopping trip to WalMart and I'm checking my e-mails at 11:30pm and I decide to check out my sister's blog. I have to admit that she said something quite rude about me... very true... but I decided that I had to comment even though it's late and I'm tired. But, here's what I want to know... am I the only person who thinks it's hard to read the squiggly code word thingy that you have to copy and type in order to leave a comment? Sorry. I just don't like them... any... time... of... day... or.....night....................

The Boys

What a manly moment... and you'll notice that they are eating apples that have been peeled, cored, and sliced. Now that's manly!

Derek's Contribution

Here we are... all dressed up...trying to get a nice picture with baby Jack... and Derek just HAD to be in every picture. He's pretty mad right here because we had just shoved him out several other pictures. We had to laugh at this one though. Jenifer, our lovely neighbor, was the photographer for these shots... brave woman (It's not easy to photograph the Danas). She couldn't stop laughing at this one.

My Two Babies

Allison was my baby for 31/2 years and had to give up her postition to Jack in May. (I still call her my baby though.) She's awfullly sweet on "the baby Jack" and loves to play with him, his toys, give him kisses and hugs, try out his binkies, sit in his crib, put on his diapers, wear his clothing... I'll have to post pictures of that one. It's pretty amazing!

Listening Therapy

While I'm teaching (temporary job) in the mornings, Kyle has taken on the task of listening therapy with the kids. It's no easy task to keep Alli girl sitting for an entire 30 minute session. It takes alot of playdough and paint, but it's so worth it!

Time to pay...

Now I'm paying for the "big" weekend... I never get a cold sore unless I'm really sick or really tired. Since I'm not sick, I must be tired. The sad thing is that it's still growing! In a few days it will take over my entire face. I'm really sorry for those of you who have to see me on a daily basis.

In all our glory...

Here we are! Couldn't keep Derek and Alli dressed long enough for a picture... oh well! Those who were there at the blessing saw them dressed.

Jack and Claire

So here they are on their big weekend. Everyone had a great time. We got together and ate alot of BBQ. Thanks to Kyle for shredding pork for hours and thanks to everyone for eating it and taking it home and eating it and then coming over on Sunday and eating it again. Yum.

Jack's Blessing

We blessed Jack on September 14, 2008. Thanks to all of our family and friends who showed up at 8:00 on a Sunday morning!

Getting Ready

So there they are, getting ready.

Claire's Baptism

September 13, 2008
Today Claire was baptized! We enjoyed talks by Grandpa Sumsion and Grandpa Dana. Everyone else hepled keep Derek and Allison entertained so we could enjoy the day with Claire. Kyle did a great job... didn't hit Claire's head on the way under... (funny mission story) and Claire came up smiling.

Labor Day Weekend

We spent Friday and Saturday at Grandma and Grandpa Dana's cabin in Pine. The weather was great, we played outside all day, and rode quads. Fun!
