The Power of Prayer
Yes, I'm talking about family pictures. We decided a few years ago that school pictures are pretty expensive and not very nice... so I figured I would be so smart and take the kids to Target every year and get a yearly picture done for alot less money. That means that starting in August, I spend several weeks getting the kids' pictures taken before the holiday rush hits. (We all have fall/winter birthdays.) Well, Jack was born in May, but I had to do a blessing picture! Anyway, the crowning moment to this annual tradition is the dreaded family picture. Now, any person with half a brain knows how hard it is to get six people dressed and picture perfect all at the same time... but add in Allison who hates to be dressed, mom who rarely get dressed in anything other than sweats anymore, a baby who spits up on every outfit including mom's outfit... give us a time limit, a car ride, a mad dash through Target, and then put us all in a tiny room and tell us all to smile. Let me just say, that I was thrilled to get all of us in one frame! Last year was so awful that we decided we needed divine intervention to survive this year. So, before we went into Target, we prayed. No giant candy canes and teddy bears in our family picture this year! It's a miracle.

Everyone looks so great! I love your hair Diana and Jack is just a doll! Glad to see you are doing so well!
That's one good lookin' family! And I'm jealous of your hair, Nim.
your prayers paid off! your pictures are great.
We will have to try that before our pictures this year. So fun to see your family Diana!
I see a pic of you and Kyle by yourselves and something in my weird brain tells me that we're still in high school . . . you have a beautiful family.
good job! I can't even get my family to do a family picture!
They look great. Ali's is so precious, I love her little smile.
Great family photos! I love Target portrait studio too. Your photographer did a fabulous job.
We need to get in and get a family photo soon too. I'm dreading it already.
Love your family pictures. It's amazing to see such a mix of you and Kyle in your kids and one of your daughters looks so much like Michelle. Wow!
I like the idea of having a prayer before pictures. I may have to try that before I shoot our pictures this week.
Okay, prayer really works. The picture's perfect. The last time we tried to take a family picture was in August. I wanted a nice family picture before Peter's surgery. I had my sister n law come over to take the photo. It was after church and sunday dinner. So we got into position...we have to be the least photographic family ever, seriously. It was so uncomfortable. All of a sudden a lizard jumped on to Meagan, then on to Addie, who had Peter on her lap. She jumped up causing poor Peter to land on his face. I was amazed he didn't get hurt or even cry. Andrew caught the little lizard. He named him Diego. This all happened in 30 seconds. Then we laughed and Diego was in all our family photo shots. Next time, I'll try the prayer.
